If you cannot find the answer you are looking for below, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Delivery
Q: I need something delivered, does Cornmeter have a delivery service?
A: Yes, we do. Many small items can be sent by post (postage fees are usually charged). Larger items can be delivered locally in our van. There is usually a charge for van deliveries, for further details, contact us for more information.
Blinds, Curtains, Shutters & Awnings
Q: I am not local to Cornmeter, but am interested in purchasing blinds etc., can you measure, supply and fit them?
A: While the majority of our blinds are supplied to local customers, we can measure, supply and fit further away (Recent fittings have included addresses in Winchester, London and Chichester, to name but a few). Please feel free to contact us for further advice and information on this subject.
Q: Does Cornmeter charge for measuring and home consultations?
A: Usually we do not charge local customers for these services. However, if your property is a considerable distance away, we may charge a fee (which is normally refundable against the cost of your order when placed).
Q: Can I order blinds made to my own measurements?
A: Yes you can. However, please bear in mind that measuring windows etc. is not always as simple as it may seem. If you prefer to use your own measurements, you do so at your own risk. Cornmeter accepts no responsibility for blinds which have been made correctly to your requested size but do not fit.
Q: My property is unusual and I therefore require a non-standard product. Can Cornmeter help?
A: Yes we can. With our extensive knowledge and years of experience, we can often find the solution, supply and fit blinds where other less experienced companies would scratch their heads and tell you "it can`t be done".
Can we fit a roller blind 5 metres up a staircase? yes we can. Can we fit vertical blinds to a round turret made from glass and metal? yes we can. Can we supply and a fit blind to a triangular shaped window? yes we can.
Q: Can you make a blind using a fabric of my choice?
A: Yes, Cornmeter offers a service for Roman blinds to be made from fabric either supplied from our own extensive collections, or by customers themselves. Please note that not all fabrics are suitable for making blinds.
Q: Can I borrow fabric samples and other sample swatches from your showroom?
A: Yes you can, but you must ask a member of staff and supply your details before doing so.
Fabrics and Wallpaper
Q: I have purchased the wrong fabric/wallpaper, or have bought more than I require. Can I return unwanted or surplus materials and receive a refund?
A: Usually, the answer to this question is no. In the case of fabrics, your order will have been cut off the roll and cannot be returned unless it is in some way faulty. Never order a fabric unless you are 100% sure that is the correct pattern and you have accurately determined the length required. In the case of wallpaper, the rules are much the same. Please remember that you are welcome to borrow or request samples of anything in our showroom.
Paint Mixing
Q: I have purchased paint that has been mixed for me and it is the wrong color or type, or, I have bought more than required. Can I return unwanted or surplus paint and receive a refund?
A: Usually the answer to this question is no. Once we have mixed your paint, it cannot be "unmixed". We cannot put paint back on the shelf in the hope that one day, another customer may require that particular colour and quantity of paint. The only circumstances under which Cornmeter accept the return of mixed paints, are where the product is faulty in some way, or has been mixed incorrectly. To avoid being left with unused paint, always purchase a sample pot of the same colour before purchasing a larger quantity and measure your walls/woodwork as accurately as possible. Staff are always available to give you information regarding the area of coverage per litre.
Timber Cutting
Q: I require wood to be cut precisely to the millimetre, can you guarantee it will be accurate?
A: While we endeavour to cut timber and boarding as accurately as possible, we cannot guarantee for example that your board will measure 579mm x 824mm. Owing to the fact that our saw is not calibrated for absolute precision, we state that it may measure up to +/- 3mm from your requirements.
